And I got 7th place, which along with placings 6-20 were 'honorary mentionings'. In other words, we got a package with some stabilo items. I am proud of myself and the comic I made. <lj:music>Kotani Kinya - Anti Nostalgic</lj:music>

I've been really busy this week. Oh my. The last two weeks of my summer holiday went by really fast. First I went to this YFU orientation camp. The exchange organization YFU holds an orientation for all the exchange students that come to Finland. I went there as a volunteer. Me and two other of my age were put in charge of all the play times and we also got a group of students to look after (see that they eat well and something like that, nothing much). The camp was from Wednesday to Saturday. As some of you already know, we got an exchange student this year again and he was at that orientation as well. Anyhow, I hadn't told him about me being there as well. I wanted to see how long it would take him to notice it. He had seen couple of pictures of me and knew my name so I thought it would be really interesting to see if he could connect them with the actual me. My first job was to go to the airport and receive some groups of exchange students. The last group was a group of 6 Japanese students (hehehe) and after that we took a rented bus to Anjalankoski, the place of the orientation. We left like around 11:30pm. We didn't get to beds before 1:30am. It was a long day. The next day I had to go eat breakfast at 8am. Anyway, when we arrived, Mirjam (YFU lady) asked me if Seyoung (our exchange student) knew that I would be there (Seyoung had already arrived a day early and Mirjam had picked him up to Anjalankoski and been with him there waiting for all of us others). I told her no and Mirjam said that now he knows because she told him. I was like 'crap, so much for the surprise'. The next morning we leaders went to eat breakfast at 8 (15 minutes before the others were supposed to come). It was a cafeteria. Just after I've sat down and taken like my first bite of bread the first students came. I noticed that one looked familiar and I actually could see far enough to read his name tag and he was Seyoung like I had thought. Man, I was just ready to start laughing then :D He sat to the same table with me and Mirjam stood up enough to point me out to him. Really, so much for the surprise. I just waved a bit with a 'hi'. I think I told him that he would meet mom, sister and bro on Saturday. We didn't talk then. I had a leader meeting before the 'Good Morning Anjalankoski' opening thing. During the orientation he came to talk to me couple of times. So I got to know him a bit before the camp was over. He's a funny guy :D

On Friday August 17th I got sick. I accidentally forgot my window open for the night and I woke up during the morning hours with my throat aching. I was in a bad shape when I went to school. I bought a cup of tea on the way to school and drank it during my first lesson, but it ended up making my stomach upset. I also started coughing more (I still had a cough left from the time I had inflammation in my throat). My second class was hell. I was feeling really sick. Luckily I only had those two lessons so I left home after having math. During the bus trip I was just hoping not to puke on the way >_> When I came home I went straight to bed and I acctually fell asleep. It's really rare for me to sleep during the day even if I'm sick. I was feverish then. I woke up couple of times but then just went on sleeping again. It was later in the evening when my fever had come down that I got up and did something. I had some fever on Saturday too. I was coughing badly the whole weekend. The problem was that on Monday I would have a Chinese guest coming to stay for a week.

My school has a friend school in China and for this week a deligation came from there: 12 students and 4 teachers. I had applied for being part of this program and I hosted one of the students. I had received couple of e-mails from him before he came. So yeah, on Monday I went to school at 11 o'clock and met my Chinese guest. He's Chinese name was too difficult for me to say so I call him Eddie, his English name. He spoke some English.

I had agreed to have all the Chinese students and their hosts to come over on Tuesday evening. We would grill something to eat and just hang around. We have big enough garden for that. My brother had his flight to USA on Tuesday morning. Because I had the Chinese boy I couldn't go with the others to take him to the airport. And I just had to lose my voice that morning. I could hardly even whisper when I woke up. I just got 'byebye' out of my mouth when my brother left. He left for his exchange student year in the USA. By the time Eddie woke up I was able to speak a bit louder than a whisper, but it hurt and it wasn't easy. We went to school and he had some music class with the other Chinese and I went to my own classes. First I was supposed to go to Suomenlinna with the Chinese in the afternoon, but because my voice was gone and there was a lot to do at home before we could start grilling so I decided to go home ahead and all the others would come later with Eddie. With my bad luck Seyoung, mom and dad didn't come home when I thought they would. I had thought for Seyoung to take our dog out. Mom would help with all the food and she could take charge of everything when the guests came so I wouldn't have to speak. Dad had promised to grill. And none of them came. Mom came like 5-10 minutes before all the guests so you can guess the hassle we had. Everyone coming to ask if they could help, all kinds of things to do and I had hardly voice to explain everything. The evening turned out ok in the end. Except my throat hurting like heck because of all the speaking. I was especially told by the school nurse to take it easy for at least a week and not to speak. I still haven't gotten my voice back -.- And it's been 5 days. I can speak about normally, but my voice is rough and I can't shout or sing.

There has been all kind of program with the Chinese and the week has gone by fast. Today I took Eddie to the airport at 5pm. Even though this week has been busy and very tiring, I don't regret being part of all this. The Chinese were nice people and I really hope I'll meet them all again. I'm sad that I didn't learn everyone's name. I'm missing 4 names. I hope their flight is okay. I think they're on the plane now. We'll see if I'll visit China then next spring ^-^

This fall I will have my English final. I haven't studied for it yet so I'm getting really nervous. I have my listening comprehension in two weeks. I really need to use those two weeks for intense studying.

After my final is over I will be going to Budapest with my grandma for 4 nights. That will be interesting. I hope I'll remember to take lots of pictures! I do feel bad about travelling with Seyoung here... He will be alone with our parents for that time, now that Tom's gone.

I guess that's all that has been happening for me lately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL FRIENDS WHO HAVE THEIR BIRTHDAY THIS MONTH!!!
I know there are quite a couple of you and I've missed some of them because of all this Asian hassle (xD). I love all of you guys and wish you've had spent that special day in a great and exciting way!

Hello everyone!

I haven't been around for some time now. I've been studying Japanese and doing other stuff instead :D Yesterday I returned from a 5-day-trip around Finland. We stayed down in 'the skirt' though, but it was fun. I slept two nights in a tent but on the third night it was raining. We weren't too sure that the tent would hold rain. One of the sights that I went to see was stone paintings from Stone Age. I liked them. I was really surprised how they had preserved all this time. What did they use as paint? I don't think animal blood could make it through all those years. To get there we had to walk 2,8 kilometers one way xD

Tomorrow I'm going to my summer cottage and next week I'll be busy. Our exchange student Nives will be leaving on next week's Friday *sniff* I'm so going to miss her! Well, next Wednesday we'll have a byebye/birthday party for her ^^

I hope everyone is doing fine out there!

Today we went to this little island Seurasaari. There's a little museum and during summer squirrels that come to take nuts from hand. Anyway, this time we went to take our exchange student to walk on ice. The part of sea there is completely frozen. It's really salt water and not a lake or something. The Baltic Sea ^^ I took some pictures there. Feel free to have a peek at them. They're not really good pictures as I couldn't see anything on the camera's screen because of the brightness so I just had to guess when I was zooming enough and if I even caught what I wanted ^^'''

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/PICT0004.jpg
It's a real pity how this picture came out. The ice flakes, decorations (whatever you want to call them) really looked like feathers. I found them really pretty. Like crystal.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j2.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j3.jpg
These are pictures of the same thing (obviously!). There's a rock inside all those ice boulders. I guess the currents and the wind has brought the ice up like that during the time that the sea was icing up.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j4.jpg
There were many pots like this close to the shores. The jiggers have made these couple of days ago and now they have reiced. We had our dog with us and there pots were like asking to be peed and pooped into, right? And usually there was a group of three to four pots.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j5.jpg
I should have gotten even lower with this picture. None of the cracks that I saw were through the whole ice surface. I'm sure they had once been but had now frozen shut. Many of these actually went across the whole 'bay' that we walked on.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j6.jpg
There's a bridge that takes over the 'bay' and this picture was taken underneath it. You can see the foot of the bridge on this picture. The ice is really nice and smooth. (and slippery!) With the little bumps it really has the feeling of water with waves.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n18/Chazagi/j7.jpg
I just wanted to take a picture of the bird footprints. And there's dog accompanying them :D Everywhere else there had been tramped on by shoes or skis but there was this in a way untouched spot.

That was all. There are many times that I wish I had my camera with me to take a picture but my camera is too old for that. Or more precisely the battery is dead. It doesn't last long (an hour if I'm lucky!) and it's reaaaaally slow. If I get a little smaller and good camera, I might start carrying it around. For example, there was this so pretty ice sculpture of a tiger. I thought about one day taking my camera with me and taking a picture of it (it was near my bus stop where I get in to go home from school) but in two days someone had broken it. Why are people so mean? It was so beautiful and it only took a day for someone to smash it? Mou...

    <lj:music>W-inds. - Winter Story</lj:music>

Just what it says. Yesterday I was the first one to return home. The moment I opened the door I could smell what our dear little doggy had done while we've been away. I though I was done after I cleaned up one pile from the stairs but noooooo, there was another one in my bro's room. I kept our door open for a while and my bro's little windows to get rid of the smell. Because of that, his room became cold -.- We have like -25 celsius in the mornings and it rises to around -18 on days so keeping windows and door up really let's the cold come inside.

Today, I have a late start for school (I haven't yet gone :D). The dog was well aware that I'm at home. At one point I heard him go down stairs and I just knew what I'd find if I went to look. Well yeah, there was poop. It wouldn't be so bad if the smell didn't make me feel sick. In any case, it's not like him to poop inside so we have to see if this goes on. If it does, we need to take him to a vet O.o Luckily, I won't be the first one to return from school so if he has more in him, someone else will be cleaning up this time.

Today I'll be going to the movies to watch 'eragon'. Couple of people have said it's good and couple other bad. I'll see. I hope it's a good one as I don't go to the movies that ofter and it would be annoying to have used money for bad movie. The tickets were 11e/piece O.O And it's not even a weekday. I thought the max price was 10e but that only shows how much I visit the movies.

Next week, I will be getting a hamster ^^ One of those really small ones. My friend will get one too but we'll keep them together as they need the company and it's cheaper to only get one set of cage, waterbottle etc. We have only brought the hay and that other thing. I didn't remember that hay smells this strongly. I wish I could just bottle up the smell and share with everyone :D We used to have two gerbiles so that's why I talked about remembering.

Recently I read the whole Death Note manga and my poor friends! Now they have to listen to me being all hyper about L ^^'''' He's just so sweet~~

I also watched two Hunter x Hunter musicals few days ago. I have totally new respect for Takahashi Hiroki. His acting reminds me of Johnny Depp... Anyway, I want to see the third one and get them all on my computer. (It's a real pity that Killua's seiyuu is a woman xD)

Yesterday I started reading Agatha Christie's Ten Little Niggers. I wanted to read this one book but it hasn't arrived to Finland yet and my other option is still being borrowed by my friend. I feel like reading a book in English (Christie's book is a translated one...). I miss being in America where everything was in English...

Now I need to start getting ready to go to school. I have free time of almost 3 hours between school and the movie. It's not enough to come visit home so I need to come up with something to do >.< I wish I had a little laptop that I could take with me. Then I could write one of my stories with it rather than by hand. With computer it's so much easier to make changes!

I have a request to all of you. I'm working on this little idea of mine and it has a lot to do with books. Unfortunately I don't read all kinds of books so I need your help! What I want is this:

Name of a writer/author, what genre/type of books does s/he write, 1-4 of his/her books (the genre of the books would be nice too) and if only possible, the nationality of the writer/author.

I want anything, good ones, bad ones, long ones, short ones.

Oh, and a really short summary of the books would be nice too. And to know if you've actually read the book or not (meaning if I can ask you about it or not xD).

Namoony, I trust you can give me some French ones, ne? Those will be needed~~ And later I may need your French skills as well, if that's okay with you ^^

Thanks for all the help!

This is what I get for watching after Namoony's journal. I apologize for missing credits and such, but I don't know how to do all those linking things on posts.

***

I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions. Any three, no matter how personal, dirty, private or random. I have to answer them honestly. In turn, you have to post this message in your own journal and you have to answer the questions that are asked to you.

***

2007 meme

1. Will you be looking for a new job?
Not like I had one before... I'll be trying to get a job for my summer break, though.

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
Don't think so. Not if things go on like they always have.

3. New house?
Not yet. Not before I finish High School.

4. What will you do different in 2007?
Strive for something ^^

5. New Years resolution?
Oh. Forgot about that. We never do that. Maybe study more Japanese or something?

6. What will you not be doing in 2007?
Quitting high school.

7. Any trips planned?
Nope.

8. Wedding plans?
(Good luck with yours Namoony xD) None for me. I guess I need a partner before that O.o

9. What's on your calendar?
No calendar -> no markings

10. What can't you wait for?
For the year to be over. I want out of high school and move on to university. Guu~~

11. What would you like to see happen different?
NOYB, thank yu.

12. What about yourself will you be changing?
A lot of things, if I just have the strenght to keep on going forward.

13. What happened in '06 that you didn't think would ever happen?
Something that happened during my exchange student year...

14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
I need to try, the least.

15. Will you dress differently this year than you did in 06?
I'm sure to wear all the same clothes next year than this. Maybe I'll get couple of corsets added to my close.

16. Will you start or quit drinking?
Start. I'll try to drink more juices.

17. Will you have better relationship with your family?
I don't think so. I still have something I need to get used to even though it has been so obvious since the beginning.

18. Will you do charity work?
Might do. If someone asks me to help.

19. Will you go to bars?
Oh yes. My friend will be 18, so we'll go and dance our butts off!

20. Will you be nice to people you don't know?
I think I will. At least in the beginning. That's what a year in USA does.

21. Do you expect 2007 to be a good year for you?
Nope.

22. How much did you change from this time last year til now?
I got a future.

23. Do you plan on having a child?
No way in hell! (In no offence to those who like kids.)

24. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?
Hopefully. I wouldn't want to lose any of them.

25. Major lifestyle changes?
I hope to start eat more fruits and exercising.

26. Will you be moving?
I don't think so.

27. What will you make sure doesn't happen in 2007 that happened in 06?
Dunno.

28. What are your New Years Eve plans?
Blow rackets at my Aunt's place.

29. Will you have someone to kiss at midnight?
Nappi *^-^*

30. Wish for 2007:
=> getting through the school year with okay grades
=> loosing a bit of weight by exercising
=> passing my English final.
=> getting a job for the summer break

***

Anime meme

1. Your all-time favorite anime?
Wholy moly. I don't know. Inuyasha? It was my first one... Oh dang.

2. Your current favorite anime?
Maybe D.Gray-Man

3. Anime you currently watch?
None.

4. Anime you haven't watched yet (and you want to)?
There's too many to list.

5. An anime you don't like (or hate, maybe)?
FLCL. That's one weird anime...

6. A manga you've read that you would like to watch it on anime?
Maybe Lovely Kon (Lovely Complex)?

7. A favourite love pairing?
Namiki/Someya (Mekakushi no Kuni), Yuki/Machi (Fruits Basket)

15. A favourite yaoi/yuri pairing (if any)?
None.

16. A character you don't like (or hate, maybe)?
Akutsu >__< <-must agree with Namoony on that one. There are many others as well. No point starting to list them.

17. A favourite seiyuu (voice-cast)?
Takahashi Hiroki (Kikumaru Eiji in Tenisu no Oujisama), Paku Romi (Tao Ren, Hitsugaya Toshirou), Yamaguchi Kappei (Inuyasha, Ranma)

18. A character you wish you were the seiyuu for him/her?
Someone with a lot of temper. Hmm... Now in a hurry I can't come up with one.

19. If you could produce and direct you own anime series, what is the title for it and what is it all about?
Probably a shoujou one. I haven't really thought that much about something like that. I'm more thinking about drawing comics *^-^*

20. Rate yourself as an anime fan. (marks out of 10)
5. I have kind of ditched that part a lot after I returned. But I still wish to watch so I'm not that bad, right? I have actually watched a couple of episodes here and there. I prefer manga though.

***

Now I need to rush to watch this one movie. Sinuhe. Really in a hurry!

Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!

Pretty flowers, as long as they don't poke me. I have dried up ones in my room.
8. Rumiko Takahashi. Thanks to her I learned of manga and anime. Inuyasha was my first manga. (Though, my favorite mangaka is Arina Tanemura.)
9. Riddles are nice but I don't love them. Truthfully, many of these are something I like or admire or something, but don't love. But hey, I can't come up with anything that I would LOVE that starts with R.
10. Rokkaku. Finally I came up with something from Tenisu no Oujisama that starts with R. Oh yeah, there's Ryoma too. Heh. Anyway. Anything to go with PoT should be okay :D

I'm working on some more of Christmas presents. I have two I'm working on now, and Namoony, one of them is yours. I won't be able to get far with it today... I got this story idea and I kept on writing it today and totally forgot that I have a lot of other things I need to do >.<''' Why can't I draw comics?
On-line journals are little filters that we each see every one else's lives through, the parts others choose to share with us. That said, we all think we are close, but really we seldom know *a lot* about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ/wherever else and find out what people don't know about you.

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.

I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.

I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.

I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn’t have to always deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

Please repost this if you believe homophobia is wrong.

I am the guy who came out to the entire school in his senior speech and got a standing ovation for his courage.

I am the girl who kisses her girlfriend on the sidewalk and laughs at those who glare.

We are the couple who planned and studied and got a damn good lawyer and BEAT the state that wanted to take our child away.

We are the ones who took martial arts classes and carry pepper spray and are just too dangerous to gay bash.

I am the transgender person who uses the bathroom that suits me, and demands that any complaining staff explain their complaint to my face in front of the entire restaurant -- and shares with my other trans friends which restaurants don't raise a stink.

I am the mother who told her lesbian daughter to invite her girlfriend over for dinner.

I am the father who punished his son for calling you a fag.

I am the preacher who told my congregation that love, not hate, is the definition of a true follower of God.

I am the girl who did not learn the meaning of "homosexual" until high school but never thought to question why two men might be kissing.

I am the woman who argues (quite loudly and vehemently) with the bigots who insist that you do not have the right to marry or raise children.

We are the high school class who agrees, unanimously, along with our teacher, that love should be all that matters.

If you agree, repost this. <lj:music>Kimeru - Feel my soul</lj:music>

I have really worked on my Japanese this fall. I have almost gotten through this one book. 5 more chapters to go. I don't remember all the things I have learned but at least the knowledge is there somewhere. It's always the thing when studying independently that one doesn't memorize things. I really want to get a MSN friend who could speak Japanese to me but could always translate it to English. That way I would have to learn it better and need to start to use it. I know I would learn the best by having to use and hear it.

Today was a fun Japanese lessons. We had visitors: Japanese people from Shibya. They were a principal, vice-principal and teachers. They stayed in our class for about 45 minutes. One of the male teachers filmed us almost for the whole time. First we went on with our class. We we're talking about Father's day and stuff somehow related to it. Hiromi-sensei was asking us if we would make a cake for our dad. I had to answer no. Then she asked if my dad would eat cake. I had to answer with 'I don't know' as my dad will be in German on Sunday. So I explained that 'おとうさんわいえにいません' (Otousan wa ie ni imasen.=Dad's not at home.). One of the Japanese visitors near by said something in Japanese that I said it correctly. That was nice ^^ At one point they asked if we wanted to ask them questions. I asked them 'フィンランド語をはなしますか' (Finrandogo wo hanashimasu ka?=Do you speak Finnish?) The lady almost beside me answered with a no but the others hadn't understand me so the lady repeated the question before I did. I guess my Japanese sounds real bad xD

Before they left we sang this one Japanese song with them and the first verse of Sanpo (from Tonari no Totoro). It was really nice having them there. I hoped that they could've stayed for the whole lesson but they didn't. I want more Japanese visitors! I was glad to notice that I understood something when they talked. But I'm still very much mada mada! :D

I have school on Saturday. Mou. I really want to sleep >.< Now I need to put Japanese aside for a while and concentrate on Swedish. Otherwise I won't be able to pass the test and I really want to get an ok grade from it. And yet I'm too lazy to study -.- I need self-discipline, and a lot of it!

I hope we'll be having a lot of fun! I have no idea what we're going to do but I guess we'll just come up with stuff. That's how it usually goes. Before I meet them I'll have my Japanese class. It's the second last for that course. My next one starts next week so I'll be working on Japanese for a while now. And I'm happy about that. Those courses are repetition to me but I better study the basics good and I keep my brother company who just got started. On my own I study forward though. Last time I got to start Kanjis in the textbook that I'm working on. I'm so happy *^-^* I actually feel like I have learned more and I can keep on learning even if I do it by myself.
